  • Candidates for President-Elect must be a member of the Board of Directors at the time of election or have been a member of the Board of Directors within two (2) years of the time of election.

As an officer, you will meet your commitment to the Association by attending all in person meetings and conference calls and fulfilling the responsibilities required of your position. There are typically three board meetings a year, most often held in conjunction with the Critical Care Transport Medicine Conference (CCTMC) in the Spring, a summer Strategic Planning Meeting and the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) in the Fall.  These are generally one-day meetings held in various geographical areas. Approximately four to six telephone conference calls (approximately 90 minute duration) are held between meetings.

Currently, air/ground travel to Board meetings is paid by ASTNA, as well as, one night hotel. Fortunately, some Board Members have been able to receive financial support from their employers. By supporting its ASTNA Board Member, the program can benefit by receiving national exposure and recognition. Additional costs that will be reimbursed by the ASTNA are those related to the performance of your duties, e.g. postage, printing, telephone calls for ASTNA business. There is no stipend or honoraria attached to being an ASTNA officer.

Attached you will find a brief description of the responsibilities of all available positions. Each Board Member acts as a Board Liaison for committee chairpersons and regions and may also act as a chairperson for committees. Board Members may be requested to serve on various national committees of allied organizations, or even represent the organization in various forums throughout their two-year term.

Election results will be released by September 2018. It is important for all newly elected officers to attend the Board Meeting held in conjunction with the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) at their own expense. This year’s AMTC will be held in Phoenix, AZ. The ASTNA Board Meeting will be held Saturday, October 20th 2018 at 8am.
