Posterior strokes account for 20-25% of ischemic strokes but are often more difficult to diagnose due to abnormal presentations. This presentation will discuss signs and symptoms associated with strokes as well as common scoring tools to help with the diagnosis of a stroke. A review of brain anatomy will also help correlate the symptoms to the are of the brain affected by the stroke. During this presentation we will also review the current standards for stroke care as well as the define the different designations associated with stroke centers.
